Getting Started (in a Nut shel) for Small Businesses
For many, this new technology can be somewhat overwhelming. Ok, lets sort this out and make it understandable. Let's say that you own two small pizza restaurants and you want to get new customers, but you also wish to send them instant messages on their cell phones about weekly specials. Here are the steps you need to do to get started.
1. Open up an account with some very basic information. As soon as you register you will get
10 free credits to use.
2. If you want people to access your webpage, go to the tab, 'Make Some Dots' and
click on, 'URL' blue box.

3. Here you will enter the information about your webpage and give it a campaign name. Since
you have two restaurants, you might want to do one for each. Where it ask for 'groups', you
could make each restaurant a separate group and give its location in the 'location'
box. Now you are ready to print it out and put them on the window of your business.
4. Go to the 'My Codes' link on the right, click on the dot boxes you have make, choose a size
and print it. Now, when people see your dot box on your window, or anywhere you choose
to put it, they will be taken to your webpage in an instant.
Having people go to your webpage is great, but you may want to skip this step, and just send them offers via text messages. Here is what you do.
5. Go to the, 'Make Some Dots' tab, like before but this time click on the, 'SMS', blue box. This
is similar to step 3, but instead of a webpage url you will enter a short text message. Now
when customers scan your code they will get the message that you have entered. A sample
message could be, "show this message for 10% off".
6. What is great is that if you later want to reconnect with the people that have scanned your
dots and send them future offers , you would go to the "Send message blast', tab on the
right, and enter your message in the box. You can also choose the time and date
if you wish to launch your message at a later date. Now your customers will be able get
updates and offers, as often as you like.
7. There are other things to use, like You Tube and e-mail, that you should check out,
once you learned the basics. They are very similar and easy to use too.
